Scope

This product sheet defines search based matching in the context of an e-commerce website.

The client defines search terms and the target websites; the results of these search terms are scraped.

The client defines price tolerances for each search term.

All returned results which are not excluded on the basis of price are matched to the client's own product identifier.

Definition

The Search Based matching service:

  • Collates results collected by the client's search terms from the search based scrape
  • Excludes results falling outside client-defined tolerances
  • Automatically matches all other products returned by the search to the client's own product identifier
  • Previous result collections are overwritten each time the data is gathered from the target site
